Aasif Mujtaba is an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University and IIT Delhi, where he built a distinguished academic record marked by technical excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to public service.
He is the Founder & CEO of the Miles2Smile Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the relief, rehabilitation, and long-term empowerment of survivors of communal violence, mob lynching, forced demolitions, and humanitarian disasters.
Under his leadership, Miles2Smile has emerged as one of India's leading grassroots humanitarian organizations, combining emergency relief with sustainable rehabilitation, education, livelihood generation, and community resilience.
Aasif also serves as the CEO of the Shaagird Foundation, an initiative focused exclusively on ensuring access to quality education for children affected by communal violence, hate crimes, mob lynching, displacement, and other humanitarian crises. Through this initiative, thousands of vulnerable children have been supported with education, mentorship, and opportunities to rebuild their futures.
He is the Director of Sunrise Public School and oversees a network of 17 educational centres across India, providing education and hope to children from marginalized and conflict-affected communities.
Aasif was also one of the co-organizers of the historic Shaheen Bagh movement, advocating constitutional values, equality, and justice.
An accomplished author, Aasif has written two internationally published books on advance Environmental Engineering. Before dedicating himself full-time to humanitarian work, he served as an Environmental Engineer and later as an Assistant Professor.
Today, Aasif Mujtaba is widely recognized for building sustainable models of humanitarian intervention that extend beyond immediate relief to create lasting social change.
